EDUCATION MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP (MSC)

QUALIFICATION OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

TIUE ‘s dual-disciplinary program “Philology and Language Teaching” is aimed at those who want to connect their future with the field of education as a teacher of Russian and English.

The purpose of training under this program is to master theoretical knowledge and acquire practical skills in the field of Russian and English, and the development of pedagogical competencies for the preparation of highly qualified specialists who will be able to carry out pedagogical activities in school education.

The teaching, methodological and scientific content of the Bachelor’s degree program in “Philology and Language Teaching” includes various modules aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the field of Russian and English language teaching.

Language of instruction: RUSSIAN

Modes of study:

  • Daytime training: Monday through Saturday.

Upon graduation, a bachelor’s degree is awarded in Philology and Language Education (TIUE).

Undergraduate requirements: 27-30 compulsory modules (subjects) totaling 480 credits (UK Credit System).

Study Period:

  • full-time education – 4 academic years (from October to June).
    Classes are held during the day in the form of lectures, seminars, practical classes, master classes and industrial practice.

The structure of the qualification consists of
6 compulsory modules totaling 180 credits for the qualification.

Duration of study for:

  • full-time students for 4 years (from October to June). Training is conducted during the day in the form of lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes, master classes and industrial practice.
  • The part-time program consists of two weeks of full-time classes at the end of each semester.
    The distance learning program consists of two weeks of face-to-face classes at the end of each semester.

In this program, TIUE aims to develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills used to develop the educational strategies necessary to implement an effective Russian and English language teaching process, taking into account the requirements of modern education.
This program is also suitable both for those who are already active professionals in the field of education and for those who aspire to become highly qualified educators in the field.

3RECOGNIZED HIGHER EDUCATION DEGREE

Upon completion of the Bachelor’s degree, graduates will receive appropriate professional teacher training and a diploma of higher education in “Philology and Language Teaching”.

In accordance with article 31 of the Education Act, a diploma awarded to graduates of licensed non-State institutions of higher education(https://lex.uz/ru/docs/5013009, https://tiue.uz/ru, https://stat.edu.uz/Univer-list.php , para. 8) is recognized in Uzbekistan on an equal footing with a diploma from a State institution of higher education.

In the modern era of globalization, language knowledge is an important competence for a specialist in any field.
Language teaching starts from school and ensuring the quality and efficiency of this process is the foundation of linguistic as well as intercultural competence – one of the key flexible skills of a specialist.
Language educators are in great demand in the educational market and other various segments.
Graduates of the program will have the necessary knowledge for professional and pedagogical activity in the field of school education, and will be able to continue their studies in the relevant specialty of Master’s degree.

FIRST YEAR

Acquisition of fundamental knowledge in the field of education management through the study of modules on contemporary issues in education, educational change management, and effective intercultural communication.

SECOND YEAR

The development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills through studying modules on pedagogy, practice in education, leadership, and reflective practice in education, as well as research methods in education. The training culminates in the preparation and writing of a master’s thesis.

Admission to the first year of study

Necessary documents:

  • Certificate of completion of general secondary school (11th grade) or lyceum/college diploma (with a transcript)

Academic Requirements:

Successful completion of the internal exam on:

Math;

English language proficiency or submission of an English language certificate (IELTS 5.0 or above or equivalent)

Admission to the "Year 1" of the programme taught in English:

Necessary documents:

  • Document proving 12 years (9 + 3) of education (certificate/diploma with attachment) OR International Foundation Programme (IFP) certificate OR a document proving completion of the first year of studies at a local/foreign university
  • Copy of passport / ID-card
